Here are some more photos from around Reykjavik. After shooting all day, I just wanted to see the parts of the city that weren’t “downtown,” so I just headed to the suburbs on the Southwest part of town trying to find the public pools. The reason being is that I’d heard that they have amazing hot tubs calibrated to different temperatures depending on your preference. All of this was true. Places of interest are: the cemetery, the town square, the public school, the public pool, the fishing shack, and the handball court. The day after I took a long roadtrip away from Reykjavik. Roadtrip photos coming soon.

It’s been sometime since my last post, but I’ve been hard at work and away in Iceland. Those photos will be coming shortly. This 4th of July, my buddy Ken was gracious enough to open up his home for a day at the pool. There was food, friends, tennis, basketball, and not much else you could ask for. Even a nature walk through the arboretum nearby. Here is part one of two.

Here are more photos from Brimfield. It was crazy to see all the dudes on bikes with walkies, collectors only looking for one type of thing, people from all over the world sourcing props for their stores and restaurants. Wildness. Things to note: “Military” is spelled “Militry,” porters wear t-shirts letting people know they are there to carry stuff blazed out of their skulls, Mork, DIY Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble, the vintage Red Sox pendants, the broken instruments, and the food court. Jeez.

Just three and a half hours north of New York, the craziest flea market happens three times per year. On monday night, we drove up to the Quality Inn in Auburn, MA to rest for a few hours before heading to the shows at Brimfield. The Brimfield Shows are happening through the weekend. We’d been told that if you really want to find the best stuff you have to go on the first day; and while running around like wild animals, we ran into friends with the same motivation trying to find things before the prop stylists, the set builders, the J. Crew’s, Ralph Lauren’s, and Tommy Hilfiger’s. The turn-out was pretty incredible; it is the physical manifestation of eBay. I feel that more than ever people are looking for things that have longevity and history as opposed to things that are pre-fabricated and ill-constructed. Although I never really buy much while I’m there, it’s worth going just to witness the spectacle. These are some of the things I found there just walking around.

This weekend I went up to Cambridge to shoot some portraits at MIT, a mix of inventors, designers, and scientists who are trying to create a better future for our world. Some heavy-hitters. The next day my friend Ari Kardasis and I drove around looking for some quality food and happened upon the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain. Check it out if you are ever in Boston and also take a look at Ari’s website, aThematics. It’s fun to see what he’s working on and thinking through.

It’s been awhile. I’ve been away in Korea traveling and got really busy with shoots this week. Here are more images from around Palm Springs. Places of interest here are the Cabazon dinosaurs, the Agua Caliente Indian Canyons, the Palm Springs Visitor Center, and a few finds along the way. I’ve been photographing that same EAT sign and all its changes and renovations since I was a kid.

These are images from last week’s road trip in and around Palm Springs and Yucca Valley, California through the desert. Notable spots along the route here are the Coachella Valley Preserve, the Integratron, CA-247, and the 29 Palms Highway. I didn’t think a Chevy Cobalt rental would hold up to my constant pulling over but it did. After I get back from Seoul and Tokyo, I’ll post some more selects.
