Rainy Day

Another rainy day in New York. Seriously, is this weather ever going to end? Today is July 2nd. So I went to Central Park to try and get Shakespeare tickets but the line was bonkers long. Anyway, it turned into a day at the Met.

In addition to seeing art, Ryan and I also roamed parts of Brooklyn and neighborhoods in Manhattan. We tried to make it despite a rainy week. Here are some photos from the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and the Flatiron.

Some things I cannot explain.

Having a friend in town got me out of the studio and into the city to explore it and revisit it. Ryan stayed with me for a week and we covered a lot of New York ground. Here are some of the photos from the museums we visited.

The Skaters

The Skaters

We trudged out in Central Park, newly dusted with snow after a late lunch and a screening of “A Woman of Paris.” The film is a silent feature written, directed, and scored by Charlie Chaplin in 1928. To watch the film, click here:

We continued through the park, shooting quite a bit and decided to head home, frozen.

Saturday, I met up with Evan Rock for some music in the park.
Gang Gang Dance, Black Dice, and Battles were all playing so I figured, sure.
While I’m not one to go to see shows at Central Park Summerstage, it seemed worth it.
My interest in Black Dice started, seeing them perform at Fort Thunder in Providence.
I found out about Battles years ago when the Battles EP-C record was given to me
by a friend because he knew I’d like the cover. He said it reminded
him of a polaroid I took in Mexico near La Fonda in 2000.

Here are the two:

Anyway, B+T is the jam. And here are some photos from the show:
