A Day at the Beach / Princess Chunk

Last night after going to P.S.1 and the Brooklyn Museum, my friend Sarafina showed me this photo of Princess Chunk. Jesus. This Garfield-like cat weighs a “healthy” 44 pounds and is camped out in New Jersey. The photograph and other googled-images to follow spawned a conversation about the genealogy of Garfield and Jon Arbuckle, Garfield without Garfield, pets, dating, and kids, which led to a collage of ideas about racial purity, dilution, half-Asian children, and chubby cats. I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day sitting in the sand. After leaving Robert Moses, Keren, David Rager, Cheri, and I waited at DiFara’s Pizzeria for two hours. Ridiculous. I’m beat.
